  • Overview

    The Application Integrations Engineer role is responsible for supporting the full life-cycle of data and application integrations, which includes but is not limited to; managing and proactively monitoring existing integrations on a day-to-day operational basis, building/developing new integrations as needed through API, flat files, or various scripting languages and tools, adhering to IT technical strategy and security guidelines.  This position will work independently as an integrations specialist while collaboratively supporting the IT department systems and partnering with the business’ project teams.  This position has a heavy solution-oriented focus and requires immediate response to system outages and emergencies via remote access or on-site.

    Job Responsibilities

     

    Subject matter expert and support

    • Manage, monitor, and maintain all data integrations for in-house systems.
    • Diagnose complex issues and provide solutions when unit testing and integrations fail to meet specifications, making suggestions on overall architecture design.
    • Participates, as needed, in customization or alteration of integrations with appropriate vendors, external partners, or cross-functional internal units.
    • Will need to be able to make advanced configuration changes or customizations in certain circumstances. 

    Build, Configuration, Installation, and Review of all Integrations

    • Build/Implement new integrations with best practices in mind for efficiency, redundancy, and security.
    • Implementation of approved design to support all IT and business services.
    • Troubleshoot and maintain integrations post implementation according to set SLAs.
    • Review and remediation of all integrations as new best practices are developed and agreed upon. 

    Maintenance/Upgrade

    • Perform any necessary patching and or upgrades on servers, application components, SaaS and/or desktops related to integration tools according to well-documented maintenance plans, either through existing plans or by creating new ones.

    Quality Assurance

    • Perform rigorous testing of patches, new versions, or processes prior to implementation, as well as partnering with the business units to create a repository of appropriate testing methods.
    • Keep well-documented results of before and after changes.

    Documentation

    • Develops and assist in the documentation of IT functions and procedures as needed.
    • Periodic review and maintenance of disaster recovery planning for assigned integrations.
    • Translate knowledge of software into software development, maintenance guidelines and standards.

    Training

    • Assist with training of users on the integration workflow and on features/functionality as needed. 

    Other

    • Performs other duties not related to integrations as assigned as a part of the Applications Team.
       

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years Application Integrations experience, preferred
      Appropriate technical certifications are desired

    Education (or equivalent experience)

    • 4-year degree Computer Science/ Information Systems or 2 yr. Computer Science education with comparable experience, preferred
