    Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers® is seeking a hands-on, Restaurant focused, Vice President of Marketing Communications to be based in the Plano Restaurant Support Office. As we strive to achieve Raising Cane’s Vision, we leverage multiple partnerships to expand our global footprint while maintaining a local presence and identity through great teamwork! In addition our Crew, Customers and Communities are critical to our success! Our commitment and dedication to Restaurant support is a competitive advantage!

    The Raising Cane’s brand is brought to life through localized “Caniac” (Grass-Roots or Neighborhood) Marketing, Media and Public Relations, Sponsorships (paid partnerships with “for profit” organizations) and Active Community Involvement initiatives (paid and non-pad partnerships with “non-profit” organizations).


    Position / Role Description

    The Vice President of Marketing Communications will be responsible for leading and implementing the content strategy and developing relationships, messaging and Customer communications. This leader will be a writer, strategist and digital producer who thrives on creating content that captures and communicates our story to a variety of audiences and within markets that are at different stages in their development cycle.

    Principal Responsibilities & Duties

    Communications Planning & Content Development

    • Partner with Brand Marketing and Restaurant Marketing to establish ideal customer targets and develop appropriate messaging and content to reach those targets and achieve desired results across all channels and mediums.
    • Outlines external content needs and partners with Creative Services to develop and distribute content across mutlipe channels including web, social, etc.
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent brand image throughout all external communications, promotional items and events.
    • Liase with and provide support to Crew Communications, as needed.
    • Responsible for all PR Agency relationships and the brand website.
    • Identify opportunities to integrate the Raising Cane’s brand and our Founder, into programming and media partnerships as well as community and other sponsorships, including athletics at all levels from youth through professional.

    Public & Media Relations

    • Develop and foster relations with traditional and non-traditional outlets including producers, bloggers and influencers to consistnely grow brand awareness, trial and loyalty.
    • Develop and execute PR strategies and plans to amplify news and events which will include sponsorships (heavy emphasis on sports and community non profits), Founder market visits, limited time promotions like National Chicken Finger Day, new market launches and New Restaurant Openings.
    • Liase with and provide support to the Founder’s PR team, as needed.
    • Responsible for the proactive management of the brand’s reputuation by identifying and addressing areas of risk in partnership with Legal and other internal subject matter experts.
    • Partner with Customer Relations department and Restaurant Leaders to provide prepared responses to commonly asked questions and ad hoc needs.
    • This role will be an active member of the Crisis Response team and will partner with a range of Functional Leaders to directly manage situations which include developing statements, indentifiying and preparing spokespeople and liasing with the media.

    Social Media

    • Lead the social media team in the planning and distribution of content to support the Brand, Founder and Mascot social media profiles across platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube. Partner with Creative Services team to create necessary content and innovate in this area to keep Cane’s locally relevant.
    • Provide support to International Franchise Partners as needed.
    • Identify trends and innovation opportunities to keep Raising Cane’s relevant while also growing awareness and brand loyalty.


    Position / Role Requirements

    • Demonstrated broad and well-developed functional marketing skills in a dynamic and highly promotional space.
    • Proven strategic thinker and innovative communications leader with an ability to lead the development of programs that are distinctive, relevant, creative, measurable and are aligned to the strategic direction of the business.
    • Proven ability to develop and edit high-quality written materials, including speeches/talking points, briefing documents, press and educational materials for various media formats print, online and broadcast.
    • Ability to engage with and counsel C-suite level decision-makers across the business regarding brand reputation/crisis situations.
    • Ability to establish meaningful metrics and scorecards for gauging program effectiveness, and overseeing the development and management of budgets, team structure and reporting.
    • A strong team orientation is critical based on the collaborative culture of the office.
    • Demonstrated expertise and experience in storytelling with executive (C-Suite) and consumer communications.
    • Experience developing and managing a brand website.
    • Knowledge and experience working with media, including traditional and digital tactics such as SEM/PPC, Social, digital and TV/Radio/OOH advertising.
    • Ability to create big ideas by leveraging media and community partnerships in the entertainment sector.
    • Solid understanding of influencer marketing and how to build integrated marketing programs.
    • Has a keen grasp of pop culture and emerging trends.

    Qualifications, Experience & Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree Required – Marketing and Communications degree preferred.
    • 10+ years of Marketing experience required.
    • Experience building a team is preferred.
    • Ability to Travel 25% based on calendar of events.
    • Agency management experience required.
    • Established network with the Public and Media relations space.
    • Field Marketing experience in a multi-unit restaurant/retail environment (“trade area based” marketing planning and execution).
    • International franchise support experience a plus.
    • Experience in an entrepreneurial organization a plus.
    • Experience directly using social media and media platforms like Sprinklr, Spredfast, Meltwater etc.
