Overview

The Manager, Total Rewards (Compensation) serves as a functional leader, responsible for the implementation and

communication of the Total Rewards strategy and other Crew Resources initiatives. The Manager is responsible for ensuring all applicable programs, including: compensation, relocation, and reporting, are executed efficiently per agreed upon processes and guidelines.

In partnership with other functions, the Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for driving core Crew Resources programs, including annual compensation planning, performance management, job & salary structures and compliance. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides functional leadership in the development, implementation, administration, and communication of Total Rewards programs including: base pay, incentives, relocation, job structures, and salary structures
  • In partnership with VP, Total Rewards and other functional leaders, build the compensation philosophy and strategy for restaurants and the regional support structures
  • Partner with Restaurant Operations to support Crew and staffing initiatives; develop strategies, policies and practices in support of key company initiatives
  • Analyzes current compensation programs to ensure they align with business strategy and the Total Rewards philosophy
  • Analyzes internal and external benchmarks to ensure Total Rewards programs are market relevant to attract and retain top talent
  • Drive and streamline various processes to enhance our reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Continually evaluates processes and makes recommendations for improvements as necessary
  • Fulfills compliance and reporting requirements, and maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations
  • Oversee the management of vendor relationships
  • May participate in vendor bids and contract negotiations
  • Provides supervision and training of direct reports
  • May participate in other Crew Resources and company-wide projects, including but not limited to:
    • Support the Staffing For Success Restaurant initiative
    • Support the development of a call center support framework
    • Participate in the analysis and redesign of benefit plans
    • Design and roll-out of a wellness program
    • Support the new framework for the Crew Relations structure
    • Support the execution and application of the performance management strategy for Operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related program of study
  • 5+ years of compensation experience. Specifically, experience managing base & variable compensation, conducting pay and total compensation analyses, and leading annual compensation planning cycles
  • Prior experience with multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail industry businesses is highly preferred
  • Excellent business acumen; strong strategic thinking/planning, analytical, financial, and numerical skills
  • Must have experience leveraging technology to drive Crew Resources process & programs; experience with Workday is a plus
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of Excel, including using advanced functions, pivot tables and v-lookup
  • Demonstrated history of working as a team member in a cross-functional business environment and the ability to form significant, trusting relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to achieve results, problem solve and drive transformations
  • Experience managing 1-2 direct reports
