Overview

The Manager, Benefits serves as a functional leader, responsible for the implementation and communication of the benefits strategy and other crew resources Initiatives. The Manager is responsible for ensuring all applicable programs, including benefits offerings, wellness, reporting, and compliance, are executed efficiently per agreed upon processes and guidelines.

 

This position is responsible for the day to day administration of all benefit programs and implementation of new benefits initiatives. Provides customer service support to employees on benefit matters, facilitates enrollment in benefits and new program roll-outs, and recommends improvements to service and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provides functional leadership in the development, implementation, administration, and communication of benefits programs such as 401k, NQDC, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, as well as voluntary programs
  • Administration of disability, personal and FMLA leaves. Responsible for vendor oversight and issue resolution
  • End to end management of benefits invoicing, payment, reconciliation process
  • Fulfills compliance and reporting requirements, and maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations
  • Design and distribution of benefit communication materials to employees and managers, through various media
  • Annual open enrollment process, including systems setup, testing, communication and training
  • Implementation of new benefits programs or initiatives, including a company-wide wellness program
  • Management of vendor relationships
  • May participate in vendor bids and contract negotiations
  • Provides supervision and training of direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related program of study
  • 5+ years of benefits experience, 2-3 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in other HR functions a plus (compensation, HRIS)
  • Prior experience with multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail industry businesses is highly preferred
  • Excellent business acumen; strong analytical, financial, and numerical skills
  • Must have experience leveraging technology to drive Crew Resources process & programs; experience with Workday is a plus
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of Excel, including using advanced functions, pivot tables and v-lookup.
  • Demonstrated history of working as a team member in a cross-functional business environment and the ability to form significant, trusting relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to achieve results, problem solve and drive transformation
