Overview

The Staff Accountant position is primarily responsible for working with all aspects of accounting to ensure the accuracy of bank records, vendor records and the company’s financial records. The Accountant must work with extreme confidentiality to protect the privacy of the organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Month-end Close Procedures: Prepare and enter journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, review expenses, etc.. 
  2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare reconciliation schedules for multiple accounts during period close. 
  3. Accounts Payable: Responsible for accuracy and timeliness for Accounts Payable process, prepare rent payments, approve check batches, perform monthly aged AP clean up, enter and pay other payables as needed.
  4. Cash Management: Updates cash forecast according to AP payments, transfers cash between accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available, records incoming/outgoing wires. 
  5. Assist Departments: Assists District Managers, General Managers and other Departments as needed with inquiries sent to departmental mailbox.
  6. Projects: Assists District Managers, General Managers and other Departments as needed with inquiries sent to departmental mailbox. Compile various projects related to accounting, FPNA, or operations.
  7. Miscellaneous: Assist with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other daily, weekly and monthly tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years Accounting experience preferred
  • Must have knowledge of general computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred
