  • Overview

    The Workday Systems Analyst provides technical, analytical, system development, and system maintenance support for Workday and related systems.  The function plays a lead role in enabling thoughtful processes and solutions that drive efficiency, reduce the cost of operations and mitigate operational risk.  This position is a “hands-on” role expected to support and maintain core configurations, build/support reports, and drive/perform system testing.  Responsible for performing system analysis and documentation as it relates to new evolving requirements, system releases, and enhancement requests.  This position participates in all phases of the HR & Financial software implementation process including requirements gathering and analysis, functional and technical design, report writing, testing, deployment, and post implementation support. This role is technical in nature and requires Workday product knowledge, hands-on implementation and post-production support experience.  The HR & Financial Systems Specialist will partner closely with our business organizations to turn business needs into high quality, scalable, secure systems to support Raising Cane’s dynamic growth.

    Responsibilities

    • Hands-on analyst providing technical and functional expertise regarding Workday, as well as other HR & FIN system tools (i.e. iCIMS), supporting integrations and reporting.
    • Liaison between Functional stakeholders and IT, in the analysis, design, functional configuration, testing and maintenance of Workday modules to ensure optimal support. Functional support, administration, and configuration management on the Workday platform supporting Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking & Absence.
    • Provide production support for Workday including, but not limited to researching and resolving problems, unexpected results and/or process flaws, perform scheduled activities, recommended solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
    • Lead and manage release management for Workday and other supported systems. Identify impact, enhancement opportunities associated with new release features/ functionality. Assess readiness, and the impact to downstream systems and change management
    • In the areas of Workday testing and feature release management:
      • Proactively monitor Workday Feature Release and Weekly Patch documentation and release notes.
      • Collaborate with appropriate functional areas to recommend features for uptake and manage the deployment of new features.
      • Work closely with functional Crewmembers to develop test plans, including test cases and test scenarios, to support semi-annual Feature Releases in the production environment, and to support the implementation of additional Workday functionality and enhancements.
      • Oversee and coordinate all testing activities to ensure that necessary testing is successfully executed during designated time frames and that any issues that arise are properly captured and resolved.
      • Lead regular meeting with Workday stakeholders to support Feature Releases, Weekly Patches, and other testing activities.
    • Responsible for developing reports and providing report administration for custom reports used by various Functional teams.
    • Collaborate with IT peers and business partners to ensure a consistent focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of service and solutions aligned with business objectives.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of Raising Cane’s policies, procedures, and processes
    • Act as a Named Support Contact with Workday; handle Workday support communication for HR and Financial functional areas and issues.
    • Serve as a Workday product specialist, building upon and maintaining professional relationships with key colleagues & vendors to ensure that the services and solutions provided exceed current and future needs.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience of eliciting and elaborating business requirements, drafting system design specifications, and developing technical solutions
    • Experience researching, communicating and deploying semi-annual Workday release upgrades
    • Requires technical and functional experience with Workday, either from working on an implementation team or from being a member of an existing Workday Service Center
    • Technical knowledge of Enterprise Interface Builder, Workday Report writer, Workday EIB, custom and calculated fields
    • Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture Concepts
    • Organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to follow and implement a project schedule, have a continuous improvement mindset, and be capable of handling multiple priorities concurrently.
    • Develop clear, effective, and business-user-oriented written documentation
    • Have solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Speak clearly and listen actively and effectively, including the ability to explain complex ideas to others with varying levels of expertise both inside of and outside of the organization.
    • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities. 
    • Able to efficiently translate technical requirement in a way that is easily understood by Functional stakeholders and vice versa.

    Education (or equivalent experience)

    • BA or BS required, preferably in Computer Science, Business, or Technology discipline
    • Minimum six (6) years of IT / or direct business experience managing technical projects.

    • Minimum three (3) years practical Workday experience

    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Workday report design, composite report design preferred

    • Restaurant and/or retail IT experience is preferred
