    Position / Role Description
    The Manager, Benefits serves as a functional leader, responsible for the planning, development, implementation, administration, communication and training of the health & welfare benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending accounts (FSA), COBRA, leave of absence (LOA), paid time off (PTO), tuition reimbursement, 401(k) and any future wellness programs. The Manager is responsible for ensuring all applicable programs, including benefits offerings, reporting, and compliance are executed in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws.
    Provides best in class support to our Crewmembers on benefit matters, facilitates enrollment in benefits and new program roll-outs, and recommends improvements to service and delivery.

    Principal Responsibilities & Duties
    • Assists in the development of the benefits strategy in partnership with Raising Cane’s Leadership
    • Manages the day-to-day administration of the benefits programs to ensure the plans are operating as intended and achieving the desired results of attracting and retaining top talent
    • Works with benefits brokers and advisors to ensure our benefits are competitive and market based
    • Manages benefits vendor relationships to ensure timely, accurate and cost-effective services are provided
    • Processes benefits and leave events in Workday and ensures our benefits integrations are working as expected
    • Has oversight over Crewmember & Manager benefits support, administration of disability, leaves of absence and the interactive accommodation process
    • Conducts regular audits and fulfills regulatory and reporting requirements in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws
    • Provides subject matter expertise and reviews all plan documents and summary plan descriptions
    • Leads annual open enrollment process, including systems setup, testing, communication and training
    • Collaborates with Accounting in preparing the annual benefits budget and monitors budget vs. actual spend

    • Implements new benefits programs and initiatives that meet the needs of our Crewmembers
    • Collaborates with Marketing, Training, Communications & Restaurant Excellence in the creation and distribution of benefit communication materials, through various media to Crewmembers and Managers
    • Coordinates and the annual best places to work surveys

    • Will develop a suite of key benefits metrics and analytics that will drive informed business decisions around our health and welfare plans
    • Provides supervision and training for multiple direct reports
    • Performs other projects and duties as assigned

    • Must maintains current knowledge of benefits related government rules and regulations
    • Excellent business acumen; strong analytical, financial, and numerical skills
    • Must have an advanced knowledge of Excel, including using advanced functions, pivot tables and v-lookup
    • Demonstrated history of working in a cross-functional business environment with the ability to form significant, trusting relationships at all levels in the organization
    • Ability to achieve results, problem solve and drive transformations
    • Must maintain confidential information


    Qualifications, Experience & Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related program of study
    • 5+ years of benefits experience, of which 2-3 years in a supervisory role
    • Experience in other HR functions such as Compensation or HRIS a plus
    • Must have experience leveraging technology to drive Crew Resources process & programs; experience with Workday is a plus
    • PHR, SPHR or CEBS Certifications are a plus
    • Prior experience with multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail industry businesses is highly preferred
    • Prior experience in fast-paced, high-growth organization is a plus
    • Eligibility to lawfully work in the U.S. is required
